The Calgary Airport Authority embarked on its largest expansion with a $2 billion six-year Airport Development Program involving the construction of a new international terminal, a runway, and associated taxiway systems.
An $8 million two-year project was undertaken for the complete replacement of the Pier A hydrant loop, including 24 hydrants, three valve chambers, high point vents, low point drains, fuel main routing and profile, and all connections.
Relocations included approximately 260 metres of the 400mm diameter line in a green field area and portions of the existing main 400mm and 200mm fuel supply lines between the tank farm and terminal.
