Aviation Fuel and De-Icing Systems

FSM is the official representative of the Canadian airline consortium corporations that own the aviation fuel and de-icing infrastructure at airports across the country.

Working closely with system operators, our team of multidisciplinary engineers and technical professionals are engaged in the oversight of maintenance and operations programs at each airport, and for implementing best practices in system reliability, safety, cost, supply security and environmental efficiencies.

Our team members are active in aviation fuel and de-icing industry associations such as IATA, the Canadian Standards Association, the Energy Institute, SAE, and the Candian General Standards Board, where we monitor developments including changes in legislation, regulations and codes. FSM ensures that new products and technology are deployed in order to continually optimize the near and long term safety, cost efficiency and supply security of the system.

Fleet Management

FSM provides fleet management services for aviation ground support equipment that targets all phases of the fleet life cycle, from acquisition to program management to end of life asset repurposing. These services assist in the management of equipment such as aircraft refuelers, hydrant dispensers, hydrant carts, vacuum trucks and aircraft deicing vehicles.

We ensure we understand the site operating environment, equipment utilization rates, historical vehicle maintenance profiles, and how each piece of equipment is intended to be used. This knowledge has been adapted into our purchasing requirements allowing optimal equipment acquisition for functionality, safety and cost efficiency. FSM maintains relationships with quality suppliers ranging from original equipment manufacturers to aftermarket service, as well as other service providers to ensure new technologies and equipment innovation are leveraged.

FSM plays an integral technical role with our airline clients for vehicle upgrades, retrofits, commissioning, regulatory oversight and maintenance auditing specific to the requirements in an airport environment. We work with service providers to establish formal maintenance planning requirements over the lifecycle of the equipment and assist with the development of management platforms to ensure cost efficiency and fleet effectiveness.
