Airport growth and an expansion at the aviation fuel storage facility at the Edmonton International Airport facilitated a $1 million two-year expansion and modernization of the gasoline and diesel fuel storage and dispensing system. The existing gas bar included single wall underground tanks and aging dispensers in a congested area of the fuel facility.
The new gas bar consists of aboveground tanks located within the aviation fuel storage facility dyke, along with aboveground piping, dispensers and dispenser sumps, eliminating all risk of potential underground contamination. The new gas bar provides state-of-the-art fuel management capability for the Edmonton Fuel Facilities Corporation and system users.
