The Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) fuel facility consists of a jet fuel storage tank farm, an underground jet fuel hydrant system, and gasoline and diesel storage and distribution facilities. The hydrant system has undergone a recent expansion that provided hydrant fuelling at new gates along the north and south ends of the terminal building.
Services at the airport are provided by the Canadian Fuel Consortia and include facility administration, into-plane fuelling and tank farm management. Jet fuel is received by tanker truck and is stored in three aboveground tanks, which is then distributed through the hydrant system to aircraft gates. Approximately 30,000 flights are fuelled annually at the airport.
